And in other news: the sky is blue, water is wet and our economy is not doing so hot.

Seriously, why is this a headline? This stark revelation makes him no different than Al Sharpton – it’s media pimpdom. “Oh, I’m out of the news for a little while, so what can I talk about that will make the spotlight shine brighter in my relaxed hair?”

It’s a perfect storm really. Muslims. 9/11. Obama. And now Farrakhan. Well, Mazel Tov brother minister.

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan said Thursday an Islamic community center and mosque planned near ground zero should be built because Muslims were among those of many faiths who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. “Why then should a mosque, a cultural center, not be constructed a few blocks away?” Farrakhan asked at a news conference in Washington, where he was joined by a coalition of African-American Muslims.

Barack Obama and Louis Farrakhan

See who is looking over your shoulder?

Let’s play that same game of logic, shall we brother minister?

You know, Jews died in the 9/11 attacks as well, so would you mind having interfaith dinners at the fellowship hall of said mosque. You would rather kiss a white woman, wouldn’t you?

This is separatist prattling as usual. Get that, “joined by a coalition of African-American Muslims.” Yes, there are a bevy of white Muslims but none of them stand for the “white man is the devil.”

Sure, they abstain from pork and pray five times daily, as all good Islamic believers do, but they have that pigment issue that prevents them from being asked to break bread.

Yes, Muslims have a certain unalienable right to practice their religion in America. Yes, stereotypes exist in this country. And yes, thanks to the tragic attacks on 9/11, Muslims are the ire of every evil stereotype there is, despite the right to avoid them.

There are good-minded, kind-spirited Muslims everywhere. There are also sardonic human beings that are extremist swine that murder in the name of their religion. Likewise, there are benevolent people who love Jesus Christ and represent him daily. There are also malevolent, twisted people who propagate their pablum to pad their pockets and mislead people, all under the guise of God and blessings.

The point is this: When you talk religion, you will hack off half the people in any room. And why? Because of the extremists. They exist in any religion, or lack thereof (I can think of a few Atheists that go way out of bounds).

MEMO to Farrakhan, while some televangelists and false prophets are creating a rouse to swindle money and fake healings, none of them got on a jet and killed thousands of people because they believed heaven was a place of vestal virgins waiting to congratulate them.

Do us all a favor? Go find a real cause and speak on that. Your support for the Ground Zero Mosque is about as inevitable as President Obama supporting one of your shindigs on the same day he is expected to have lunch with a gaggle of black pastors.

Moving on…

And before you ask, yes, this is legit sans photoshop.

That is a Playboy magazine cover with what looks like a silly choir boy depicting Jesus Christ holding hands with a half butt-naked, Portuguese model. And although this is completely blasphemous, you think anyone is raising a kerfuffle about this?

What’s that? Haven’t heard this story on CNN? Didn’t catch wind of this through ABC? Was even a mystery on TBN and Daystar, for God’s sake?

Yeppers.

Why did they do something so heinous, so sardonic and so blatant. ‘Cause they can.

Once again, my theory rings true: Christianity is the world’s only legal prejudice – without reprocussion, without fear.

And add to the list the publisher of Playboy Portugal. Well, former publisher as it seems even porno, viagra should-be spokesman Hugh Hefner has scruples, according to MSNBC.

Theresa Hennessy, who is vice president of public relations at Playboy, told the newspaper, “We did not see or approve the cover and pictorial in the July issue of Playboy Portugal,” adding that “it is a shocking breach of our standards and we would have not allowed it to be published if we had seen it in advance.”

“We are in the process of terminating our agreement with the Portuguese publisher,” Hennessy said.

Ya’ think?! Yes, it would be lovely if Christians everywhere united and got off their blessed assurance to call the publication and demand more than just a slight “termination” (because you know the executives will be given jobs at Playboy Ukraine or something like that). But I enjoy living so I don’t think I will hold my breath.

What I will do is this: groan, kick and scream at anyone who bothers to spread the crap a skosh too thin with the half-baked “It’s freedom of press and speech” argument. Can you imagine if that was Muhammad on the cover? Hell, Louis Farrakhan even?

Hef’s brothel would be carpetbombed within the hour! Yet, here we go, back to church on Sunday, “Gurl… can you believe that cover. Child, please. You know God don’t like ugly.”

“Come on HiScrivener. They are cancelling the publication. What more do you want?”

Yeah, not so fast. Here’s the real reason:

The magazine’s Portuguese subsidiary, Frestacom-Lisbon Media Publishing, reportedly neglected to show the cover to Playboy before publication, thereby breaching the licensing agreement between the two companies.

Ah well. So much for scruples.

Have you ever been watching TV and see a report from an oil magnate, like the CEO of “Big Oil, Inc.” who is issuing an apology to his investors for being down in the first quarter… yet that company still made $3.4 billion?!

This appalling story of resounding bad form and complete disregard for anyone is like that.

Meet ‘Cordoba House’, as the story details in the Christian Post.

"Never Forget". How about "Anyone Still Remember?"

Anyone remember that cataclysmic event known solely for its infamous date? 9/11? You know, Islamic terrorists? Airplanes? National hysteria?

So in the “What the what” department, a few Imams and a gaggle of militant Muslims who dig this “free speech” thing in America have decided to petition a New York community board to build a $100 million mosque, Islamic community center and basketball court practically in ‘Ground Zero’, the site for the devastating attacks.

Yeah, I know. And even worse, it was approved with a vote of 29 to 1.

To kick this tirade off, props to whomever was the only person on that board with the temerity to say, “You know, this may not be such a good idea.” And the rest of those dolts who are either so blindsided with P.C. or wetting their britches to say what they should have, shame on you. Idiots.

“I couldn’t believe that this is really true,” wrote Sabatina James to The Christian Post in an e-mail. “Building the mosque where thousands of people died because of Islamic terror is just indecent.”

James, whose book My Fight for Faith and Freedom is a bestseller in Germany, is currently living under police protection in Germany because of death threats against her for converting to Christianity. She said her German friends were shocked when they heard that a mosque might be built near the site of the 9/11 terror attacks.

I mean, seriously. What is anyone thinking in the Big Apple… with a worm in it?

What do you think would happen if when Louis Farrakhan dies, Mosque Maryam (the warm, national confines of the Nation of Islam) goes belly up and is vacated. This is site is historic, but a few rabbis think that is some prime real estate would be a great location for a Jewish school and gets the party started with a sweet Bat Mitzvah.

You think the kerfuffle that would proceed would make headlines? Possibly a guest appearance on ‘Americas Most Wanted’? MEMO to New York City: Two words for ya’, “Never Forget.”

Yeah, apparently you did because that was a cutsy, marketing phrase your beloved city concocted to plaster on everyone’s bumper this side of the Mississippi. You know, kind of a tribute thing for all those natives that um, DIED in your friggin’ town.

I know 2001 seems like a land in far, far away but believe me, it’s still too soon for this. This is much more than a religious issue; it’s a national one.

Community Board 1 member Rob Townley who called the plan a “seed of peace.”

Yeah, that’s nice there Bobby. Only it’s not so much a seed as it is a wheelbarrow full of fertilizer, if you know what I’m saying. Although it’s tragically unfair for all Muslims in this country to be painted with the “that religion” brush, it’s the 800-pound gorilla in the room.

Cordoba House is not a tribute or a memorial. It’s a reminder of that gorilla flinging poo at the memories of the 2,700 people who were murdered on that fateful day.

If you want to honor those victims, build a park, do community service or help clean that mess. But do not build a house of worship toward your god where so many still need to feel a touch from theirs.

“Indecent?” That’s the understatement of the year. The only problem is that we can’t seem to find anyone in New York who is willing to overstate the obvious.

I could write for days about how I feel on this amazing day so many Americans and other citizens of the world have cast aside. But I won’t.

Suffice to say, there is a mountain of sentiment and a sea of memories for this day. It’s more than a three-day weekend. It’s more than a reason to take off work. It’s much more than a whimsical, political preference. It’s more than anything we can muster.

Watch the video and remember… And oh, by the way, this ain’t the forum to flare off your anti-war sentiments. Know that. It’s about the people in the war, not the ration behind it.

They gave, so we could keep. They went, so we could stay. They died, so we could live.

God bless all the families of those we commemorate this hallowed weekend. Peace.

Our brave men and women need all the inspiration they can muster to fight for us overseas. Some have their family picture in the pocket. Others have voice mails of their loved one on the phone. And even a few believe their selfless act of admiration is being done in the name of God.

Evidently, a company called Trijicon believes that is the case as this one awesome armory that makes hand-crafted guns… with a freshly engraved inscription that is usually a biblical scripture.

Although no one bother to read the serial numbers on semi-automatic machine guns unless they are ne-er-do-wells just out of welding shop looking to wipe off serial numbers, someone complained, according to this story from WOW News’ Religion News Blog.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations on Wednesday said the continued use of the sights with the religious references would send a negative message to the Muslim world.

The only message most Americans want sent to THAT Muslim world starts with a Army boot clean in Osama’s behind.

And seriously, how is some dolt from the Taliban going to get that close to one of our guns?! Oh yeah, unless he steals it, which in that case, he deserves to get “delivered.”

I wish I had more to say but the great Stephen Colbert has more… watch both the intro and the following clip. Genius!
