Stephen Colbert is at it again… and this time, he is making an espoused “atheistic biblical scholar” look like a complete dunderhead (outside of the ridiculous oxymoron).

Colbert hosts some dimwit named Bart Ehrman, who evidently needs a Mapsco to find his way around the synoptic gospels.

And Colbert, after hurling a deluge of scripture in dude’s direction, offers this genius quote when the question of deity rears its unwelcomed head:

“What’s the son of a duck? If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and raises the dead like a duck… it’s a duck.”

Check. And. Mate. Now, enjoy this week in video evangelism.

  1. Thank you for replying. But I dare to argue, (respectfully)that everyone should be treated the same.
That is what makes much of my activist work so difficult. Everyone must be treated the same.

  2. Can “Christians” write posts without calling people insulting names? Isn’t a good argument based on facts rather name calling? Wold Jesus engage in this sort of activity?

      Daniel,

I have to tell you. If you just floating by, like chum hoping not to get bit, without making a commitment to Christ, you are not an idiot and I wouldn’t use those terms of endearment for you. If you are said chum with a real angst against God, go on national TV and tell the world that the Bible doesn’t declare Jesus to be God in three of the four Gospels… you are indeed an idiot.

I would think if I did that, you would call me that 🙂

      Peace,
      HiScrivener
