Gospel legend: Wright’s Church mortgage to be paid in full

It’s been more than a month, and Gospel music icon Rev. Timothy Wright is still in the hospital, incapacitated and practically destitute. He has lost his wife, grandson and most of his upward mobility.

HOWEVER, this pillar of faith in the community and the industry truly knows from which he sings. Melodies like “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” and “Everything’s Alright (Hold On)” must be the only thing that keeps him going.

Well, add to that “Trouble Don’t Last Always” as another Gospel legend and brother in John P. Kee comes to the rescue to payoff his church mortgage!

Two weeks ago, Pastor Kee announced that he will be supporting Rev. Wright and the Grace Tabernacle Christian Center Church of Brooklyn by paying the mortgage on Rev Timothy Wright’s church until he returns. [Brick-laying shout out for my man, Lee Bailey, for this story].

See there? That is what the Body of Christ is all about – support, a shoulder and a step up. Thank God for obedience like this. So, in the words of John P. Kee (another man I used to play on-air ad-nauseum), we will all just wait for Rev. Wright to “Stand!”
