So, the televangelist court saga of 2008 is underway as Missus Tiara Victoria Osteen (seen in the picture fresh off the plane) is taken to task for breaking out her best MMA impression on an unwitting flight attendant who didn’t tend to some spillage in her cushy pleather-clad seat in first class.

After the neutered jury was claimed, the case is now underway in Houston for what has to be a complete misuse of our justice system in that Sharon Brown [the untoward stewardess in question] wants an apology and punitive damages amounting to 10 percent of Victoria Osteen’s net worth as part of her suit.

Again, all this over a spill on an armrest the size of a half-dollar. And I still can’t get the city to call me back about some deferred adjudication. Bums.

MEMO to Vicky: They’re called HANDI WIPES, woman! And now, because you have to be like REM and “lose your religion” by trying to actually break into the cockpit (despite all those ignored 9-11 prods in the news) and bust out a kimora on the hired help, we are here languishing thousands of dollars in legal fees making attorneys the only ones that come out looking good in this whole fiasco.

Ah, ain’t life grand. Back to the new details…

“She was demanding that attention be given to her immediately,” Johnson said. She added that Victoria Osteen kept saying: “This is ridiculous. I’m a first-class passenger.”

Nice. If you bring that same sense of self-aggrandizement in your carry-ons, I wonder how you treat your freakin’ lawn care workers. Do you insist on speaking “Hab-lay-Es-pain-ol-lay” because you just know that can’t understand English?

Well, it’s obvious you have mastered the Queen’s tongue. I’ve seen your book – one Victoria Osteen certainly attempts to personify daily. It’s called “Love your life.” Well, we can’t all be like you.

You know, pretentious, elitist and difficult to understand speaking because of that silver spoon crammed in your throat. No… well, yeah, that’s what I meant actually.

However, your attorney was understood and correct:

“This is nothing more than an attempted extortion,” [Rusty] Hardin told jurors during opening statements in the trial in which he said his client did nothing wrong. While questioning Johnson, Hardin suggested that she and Brown might have overreacted or that Johnson might not have remembered the confrontation correctly.

Yeah, yeah. Hey Rusty. Now that you’re done with Roger Clemens (how did that work out for ya’ anyway), I need to remind you of something. Remember that constitution you ingested while trying to pass the bar? Well, in case you haven’t noticed, it can be folded up like a paper airplane and flown across a courtroom any day of the week. And the end of this case may be Ms. Brown’s day, so fasten your seat belts. But if you want to gamble on the outcome, I believe this sham of a legal procession is missing a card. No, not the joker. The ubiquitous race card:

Just before her testimony concluded, [another Continental flight attendant, Maria] Johnson suggested race might have played a role because of remarks Victoria Osteen made about wanting to deal only with Johnson, who is white, and not with Brown or another flight attendant on the plane, who are black.

Would you look at that? We have a rich diva of privilege (who always as a group get the favor of the justice system), a smarmy lawyer, a well-known pastor and now in a fit of desperation for that paydayer, writ of justice, the race card. No wonder they call it “Texas Hold ‘Em”. Stay tuned.

LET’S BE REAL NOW! IF YOU PAID YOUR MONEY STRAIGHT FROM YOUR POCKET AND YOU COULDN’T EVEN GET SUCH SIMPLE ATTENTION AS HAVING LIQUID SWIPED WITH A KLEENEX, BY ONE OF THE CREW THAT WORKED THERE YOU’D BE PISSED TOO. I CAN IMAGINE HOW VICKY MUST’VE PROBABLY BEEN PATIENTLY ASKING AND WAITING AROUND TO NO AVAIL!SOMETHING SO SIMPLE COULDN’T GET TAKEN CARE OF?! PLEASE! THOSE NASTY FLIGHT ATTENDANTS ARE JUST A BUNCH OF LAZY JERKS WHO DON’T EVEN DESERVE TO KEEP THEIR JOBS.I CAN UNDERSTAND WHERE SHE’S COMING FROM- ALL SHE WANTED WAS TO GET WHAT SHE PAID FOR. WHAT’S SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT?!I WOULDN’T EVEN BE SURPRISED IF THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT PUSHED HER TO THE LIMIT JUST TO CASH IN ON VICTORIA’S MASSIVE WALLET THAT GOD GAVE HER THROUGH MUCH WORK,EFFORT AND FAITH. GOD HAVE MERCY ON WHOMEVER MESSES & TARGETS THIS GODLY FAMILY OR THEIR IMAGE WITH FALSEHOOD, FOR IT WILL BE UPON THEIR HEAD WHOMEVER DOES! REMEMBER GOD VINDICATES FOR HIS CHILDREN IN A VERY VAST WAY. EVEN THE BIBLE SAYS IT….:)

Frank, stop ‘should’ing on yourself. The uh, ‘moderator’ wishes more concerned people like you posted on the Wall.

Oh, and if you noticed the initial story linked in “FAA THIS”, you would see the perspective rant on her need for Vicky to tithe her complete assets for her PTSD. It’s also in “Pastor’s Honor”.

    Thanks for posting.

    Peace.

  4. Frank Miller says:

Writing on the Wall has neglected to mention in their perspective rant that the flight attendant is seeking (only) 10% of the passengers net worth…?

Nice touch – doubt this message will pass through the ‘moderator’.

    Cheers.

    – Memo for Chris Jones –

Why don’t you fly in the first class section…? Why don’t you spend your own money and try it…? What do care about someone else flying in this manner?

Mind your own business… better yet, start a business and work hard. Then you too can afford to upgrade your situation – and your company can pay for it… this may positively impact your judgment of others that you perceive to be undeserving.

Bottom line: The success or failure of someone else does not qualify you to be a sour puss.

  6. Frank Miller says:

I have had enough bad experiences with Continental and their brand of customer service that I have not flown with them since the early 90’s – and will not ever again. Delta runs a close second with me.

I was married to a Continental stew… they are largely an immature bunch of ‘gals’… school girlish, pop culture wannabes was my sense of it all… The uniform may have something to do with the attraction of pseudo power. (The queers are worse).

To be balanced here, they do earn their money in difficult or dire circumstances. I have also seen abusive/unruly passengers on both long haul and short term flights. There are lots of people to attend in the economy section the ratio of passengers to attendants is not favorable.

Upper level travelers can be ‘high maintenance’. I have seen them ignore their brats seated in another row and leave it the attendants to entertain/monitor them.

International flights are another kind of animal… with low labor costs passengers seem to create more trash and discards for someone else to clean up. I tend to side with attendants on these flights as the passengers are too often undisciplined or living delusions of grandeur.

    Peace.

  8. Chris Jones says:

I don’t know either of them, but I don’t know how can Victoria or her family afford to fly in the first class. When was last time you flied first class with YOUR OWN money?

  9. Marc says:

I don’t know either one of these folks, but I do have the opinion that flight attendandts are just about the nastiest people I come into contact with on a regular basis. I can almost imagine the attitude of ‘you spilled it, you sit with it till I’m good and ready to get to it.’

  10. Voice of Reason says:

There is nothing frivolous about this case, and the wife is a liar. This case isn’t about the stain on the seat. The Preacher’s Wife pushed and injured the flight attendant. The wife was fined by the FAA for her conduct and she paid it, an obvious admission that she was, in fact, disorderly and combative with the flight crew. So here it is: the FAA fined her and she paid it. If she didn’t do it, then she lied by admitting it and paying the fine. Christians shouldn’t lie. Christians who do not follow their rules are crummy Christians. Therefore, the wife is a crummy Christian. The Bible doesn’t say only tell the truth when it is easy, and lie to be expedient. Either it is right or wrong to lie, no exceptions, no shades of gray.
My problem with Christians isn’t what they believe, it’s that they don’t believe what they say they believe.

  11. Papa_K says:

Just my two cents here. I’m not a religious person and I’ve only heard of Joel Osteen. I’ve also flown on many Continental airlines flights out of Houston and I must say that from my experience they are the worst at customer service. I don’t know Victory Osteen personally and I wasn’t there but from my horrible experiences Continental personnel need to go to class to learn people skills.

First of all Houston’s Hobby Airport is one of the worst for changing flights from one gate in one concourse to one nearly two miles away at the drop of a hat and 20 minutes before the flight it to depart.

Second flight back out of the gate to say they leave on time. They will sit there by the gate for another 45 minutes to an hour before they begin to taxi out to the runway. So all the plans you made to make your sons basketball game are thwarted by the incompetent and insensitive personnel at Continental.

Third when you try to make a complaint they over react. As I attempted to make a complaint with a supervisor the desk person who didn’t want me to report her called the police. I was arrested and beat up by San Antonio airport police, then fined $120 for disorderly conduct all because I wanted to file a complaint against one of their insensitive employees for doing a horrible job.

So with all my personal experience I feel that Victory is innocent of all charges and that Continental should apologize to the Osteens for this embarrassing debacle and obvious gold digging effort on the part of one of their employees.
