MOVE 2008: Dobson gets focused from member of ‘the Family’

Last week, we began our campaign trail series, “MOVE 2008” with a little diatribe about ‘Focus on the Family’ founder and beloved evangelical leader, James Dobson, calling out Barack Obama for biblical revisionism.

Not a day after that story went public, a Web site was launched aptly titled, “” was put into the cyber-verse for all those concerned. Of course, you presume an Obama fan, staffer or strategist would be the culprit behind it. However, I’m sure Colorado Springs was buzzing when word came out that no other than Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell was the Site’s mastermind.

Yeah, THAT Caldwell – Bush 43 consultant, spiritual adviser, officiant of Jenna Bush’s wedding and pastor of one of the most prestigious churches in the country. Check out the story from the Washington Post. Ya’ think when the morning paper and presidential cup of Dunkin’ Donuts hit the Resolute Desk, President Bush was scratching his back where that knife wound was left?

“I think it’s a crime and a shame that Senator Obama has had to explain the fact that he’s a Christian,” Caldwell said in a recent interview. “Criticize his politics. Criticize his stance on whatever, but don’t question his faith. Never in the history of American politics has someone said that he is a Christian and someone came back to say, ‘No you’re not.'”

He’s right, you know. Just because some misguided and delusional rednecks out there make light (Shoot, light? More like a solar flare) out of Barack Hussein Obama’s controversial middle name, people have presumed he was Muslim from jump street. Although that is incorrect, unfortunate and just sad, Caldwell really should see Dobson’s point of view as well.

This homogenized ‘we-are-the-world’ theology that is being propagated by Hollywood and Capitol Hill is revolting. The Bible says what it says, and simply because the Holy Writ doesn’t appear as P.C. as the rest of these lukewarm, pew warming tools on the coasts, doesn’t mean you have carte blanche to rewrite a psalm for complete inclusion.

Personally, I think many evangelists are attacking Obama on the street of religious belief is because ‘their horse in this race’ isn’t even parking his “Straight Talk” bus anywhere on the pavement. And, according to the enclosed slick ad and strategic political speak, Obama is having a flippin’ block party.

Sorry, but I believe you’re wrong about Obama and about “why” true Christians oppose him. The Jesus made it clear about a person’s faith: “You will now them by their fruit. A good tree produces good fruit and a bad tree produces bad fruit.” There is no such thing as kind of good and kind of bad in God’s eyes.

The Word of God – the Bible – already judges the actions of men simply by its professions. i.e., Thou shalt not murder. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

God’s position is solid. We know what right and wrong is based solely on the positions God has held in the past on them. We can read how He dealt with adultery, murderers, idolatry. We don’t have to guess and invent new ways of interpreting it. It’s plain.

When Jesus came onto the scene, He taught that we are to bare good fruit – live a holy and pleasing life unto God. He said there would be distinctions between those who are walking in the Way and those who aren’t.

So, when we look at a person’s life we should be able to see Christ in them. It should be obvious. A person who follows Christ should have the “aroma” of Christ if you will surrounding everything he says and does. A true Christian won’t be committing adultery. A true Christan won’t be a murderer. A true Christian won’t be an idolater.

When it comes to politics, he won’t promote infanticide. He won’t redefine marriage (regardless of the cultural popularity of the idea). He won’t condone those things that the Word of God say is sin. A born again Christian just WON’T do these things.

Obama has promoted both of these. That is why a James Dobson can say what he says. To the Christian it should be obvious. To those who aren’t, they just don’t get it. Perhaps it’s because society has redefined what a Christian is anymore.

As for me, I didn’t vote for either one. My convictions go deeper than party affiliations.

You may want to read a little of the Old Testament, and a few of the parables in New Testament to query whether Jesus sees good and bad. To the contrary, he sees sin and grace, his blood and others stain. Why else will people get to heaven and God exclaim, “I never knew you.” In other words, that is bad.

However, you are very correct and we agree completely on what Obama stands for politically, and why the massive swoon of evangelicals voted democratic.

True, when you see a person, you should see Christ. When you hear a person, you should hear Christ. And when you someone acts, those actions should be based on the Word of God, that is, if said person demands on being considered a Christian. Obama does, but his actions on abortion say the contrary, which is the legitimate gripe evangelicals have. Tap those brakes on his actions for marriage. Without waxing too political, the BarackStar is all about campaigning, and that GLBT agenda wields a powerful sword. Brother just doesn’t want to get cut, you feel me?

And bravo on your voting stance. Bravo. You can stop by anytime.

  2. Wes Hazlett says:

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:14-15

Do you actually believe that the Antichrist is going to claim that he is the Antichrist????

The Antichrist is going to swoon over the whole world with his Satanically endowed power granted to him by Almighty God. Why in the world do people think that Antichrist is going to be glowing red and carrying a pitchfork?

God have mercy on us poor and wretched sinners in America. We have failed you and judgment is coming to America for how we have hid behind our politicians as though they mandate what is socially acceptable in our godless society that hates God Almighty.

To cruel authority we are handed because we rejected righteous authority.
