Well, this story is factual evidence that an I.Q. ranked in the Mesosphere doesn’t necessarily make you ‘smart’.

This week in London, an auction house is selling a letter from Albert Einstein that reads the following two things subject for speculation on the Wall:

“The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish.”

Thank you, Father of Relativity. It turns out you should have stuck to your day job because those “primitive legends” are relatively secured in heaven dancing with Jesus while you (outside of a knee-bent mea culpa) are hangin’ with Mephisto still en-route for a hairstylist.

“And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong and with whose mentality I have a deep affinity have no different quality for me than all other people.”

Nice. This stout asseveration comes from a JEWISH MAN BORN IN GERMANY (so God knows he was heavily conflicted) who was nominated to be this certain city-state’s second President. Look here, genius, if you could ‘reason’ your way to the Promised Land, everyone would try to do it. You can’t.

Faith is diametrically opposed to logic, but it gets you to the same destination. Argue faith until your hair is on fire (note the picture), but it does not remove the fact that logic will not save you, it only inspires you to act on faith. Case in point – the Bible:

The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:4-6)

So, how does light shine in darkness? No, not an acute reflection on your bald head. It requires something innate to know that when you are alone in the dark, and no one is looking, God is there… listening, breathing, watching. Without it, you will never know what it means to be “his chosen people”.

That is faith like a child. So, in short, thanks for the compliment, Einstein.

In case you are new to being a ‘wall watcher’, welcome!

This is not an ordinary blog – there is purpose involved. Although the wall is a place of commentary on current events, ramblings on religious occurrences and pontification on poignant items reflective of Christian life today, understand one thing (and this post may help too)…

The original story of the ‘writing on the wall’ was a warning from God that he wasn’t exactly pleased with his children, or others that hung out with them.

This incredible video says more in roughly 60 seconds than any signature on the wall ever could. Enjoy.
