Where’s the love: Charges reduced

Love NOT demonstratedWall watchers, you have been concerned with a previous post about a ministry that had allegedly created a new definition for “tough love”: to drag a misbehaving 15-year old girl around the “Christian boot camp” from the bumper of a ministry van.

Oh yeah, it’s called “Love DEMONSTRATED Ministries”. (HiScrivener is having a hard time letting that irony go.)

This just in (at least just posted to the Web): felony charges have been reduced to simple assault.

Charles Eugene Flowers and Stephanie Bassitt of San Antonio-based Love Demonstrated Ministries were originally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos reduced the charges after defense lawyers argued that the van could not be considered a deadly weapon as described in the indictment.

I wish I could make this stuff up, but frankly I’m not that twisted or a recruit for Law & Order. “NOT CONSIDERED A DEADLY WEAPON”?! Seriously? Perhaps because the van was used for dragging instead of just plowing the poor girl down?

Oh well, if good ol’ fashioned American justice won’t get the best of this eh, “preacher”, maybe this reminder from Solomon will, or maybe something similar from the Apostle Paul. Either way, you gonna git yours, sucka.
